Morssinkhof - Rymoplast is building a factory in Markranstädt for PET recycling
Morssinkhof-Rymoplast is building a PET processing plant in Markranstädt, Leipzig District, Saxony, Germany. Recycled PET raw materials will be used to produce PET regranulate, which will be used to manufacture new bottles for water and the soft drink industry. The site complements Morssinkhof-Rymoplast's existing PET recycling operations in the Netherlands. The new processing plant will produce 40,000 tons of high-quality recycled PET annually, thus avoiding nearly 175,000 tons of CO² annually.
Stefan Morssinkhof, director of Morssinkhof-Rymoplast: “For over 60 years, we have been a key part of the plastics processing chain, working together to create a closed loop. Morssinkhof-Rymoplast has been producing recycled PET granulate for over 20 years, which can be fully utilized in the production of food packaging. Several major brand owners in the beverage industry rely on Morssinkhof Rymoplast's consistently high quality rPET. Due to the increased demand for recycled PET for soft drink bottles, we decided to make this investment. With the construction of this new facility, we can further expand our group's capacity and optimally serve customers in this region.”
