Construction of new Morssinkhof - Rymoplast factory in Markranstädt begins

Dutch company Morssinkhof-Rymoplast, a leading plastics recycling company, is investing in a new production facility in Markranstädt. A symbolic groundbreaking ceremony marked the start of construction.

A new 800 m² production hall and associated silo park will be built in the coming months on the former Fehrer Automotive factory site. Two existing buildings will be demolished, while the remaining buildings will be renovated. Morssinkhof-Rymoplast has commissioned the regional engineering firm Vollack to carry out the development, planning, and construction. The new facility will produce 40,000 tons of PET regranulate annually, which will be used as raw material for the production of new PET bottles.

Raymond Nienhuis, project manager at Morssinkhof Rymoplast: "The construction of the new site in Markranstädt is another milestone in our company's history. The location is very suitable for our operations, and we expect production to be partially resumed as early as the summer of 2020."

Ulrich Henneke, partner at Vollack in Schkeuditz, emphasizes: "The new production hall and its silos will be the focal point of the site. The building's design is fully tailored to Morssinkhof-Rymoplast's processes, allowing for optimal production."

The new production site will be managed by the German subsidiary MOPET GmbH.
